Mayor-elect Olivia Chow to make Declaration of Office, deliver first remarks as Mayor

Mayor-elect Olivia Chow will take office on Wednesday, July 12, after making the Declaration of Office with the City Clerk. Media are invited to attend the ceremony, followed by remarks from the Mayor.

In-person attendance during the ceremony is subject to capacity restrictions and media are required to RSVP.

RSVP information

Media must RSVP to the Declaration of Office ceremony through [email protected] no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11. City of Toronto Media Relations staff will confirm receipt of RSVPs and provide details for accessing the Chamber for the ceremony.

For those unable to attend in person, the Declaration of Office ceremony will be streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel.

High-resolution images of an Indigenous Welcoming Ceremony and the Declaration of Office ceremony will be available to media by request. Media can request images by contacting [email protected].
